South Gippsland Shire Council Grants

The South Gippsland Shire Council have a great Community Grants Program. Now is the time to start preparing for the next round which closes on the 31st of March 2015. With Christmas holidays approaching many businesses close and collecting quotes can be a time consuming task. So we suggest starting now, plan carefully and get on to collecting the documentation required for the grant. If you are planning a large project this is also the time to begin applying for permissions and/or permits which again can take time to gather. Then come March, your application will be ready to submit.

GOG History Part 4

January 2013 saw us receive our Electronic White board with a grant from Volunteers Australia. Together with Kathy, Doug G and Doug D and Wendy we managed to erect the white board.

We continued to work on grants on behalf of CERT and Venus Bay Mens' Shed. February saw GOG attend a meeting with Mirboo North Community Plan Working Group with Barbara Look. We met with Penni Ellicott to discus current grant applications we were planning to submit to the Council Community Grants Program on behalf of Venus Bay Men's Shed, The Tarwin Lower Mechanics Hall, GOG and The Beach and River Business Association. We also work on applications for Gardiner/FRRR on behalf of the Venus Bay Men's Shed, FRRR for Tarwin Lower Primary School.

March 2013 finalised all 7 grant applications from February and posted on time. This saw a total of $30,600 being requested for our community. Email sent to our clients that the Volunteers grant was open. We requested a discretionary fund from Kieran Kennedy for Community Weatherproof Notice Board to be housed at Tarwin Lower Food Works store. Our request was granted to the value of $700. Application will be submitted in April.
